Preview to Success Stories For the betterment of the society that we live in there are agencies that help institutions like hospitals, universities, schools and other charitable organizations with acquiring of land at subsidized rates. Over the years most of these institutions have done a yeoman service to human kind and have strived to give more. Land agencies come into the picture here as they want justifiability to acquiring of more land at subsidized rates. At this point of time these agencies like to have documented proof of actual utilization of space allotted to these institutions. We have helped this cause for these institutions in more than one way.
Success Stories * All CAD\CAFM work for the following clients has been done by Indsys Computers (P) Ltd. on behalf of Indus Systems Inc. Harvard University and Field Verification Harvard University has dormitory buildings spread over its vast campus area and just before the start of a new semester in the fall of 2001 wanted to have complete information about it buildings in terms of square footage for efficient use. We helped them to achieve this by compiling their existing drawings. Creating CAD drawings from free hand sketches made during field verification; we brought all the data to a standard user friendly format. Further more the University wanted to have a complete inventory of rooms, their doors and keys which fit them. During field verification all the doors and their key numbers were documented and reflected in the CAD drawing itself. This also allowed the University to generate an excel report for ready reference. George Washington University Deploys “iDrawings” for Space Tracking. (All inputs done by Indsys) One of the largest and best known universities in the US has started using "iDrawings" to track the usage of space resources. George Washington University in Washington, D.C., spread over three campuses own over 9 million square feet of built-up space. It is imperative that the management be able to track space usage by various divisions and departments so that wastage and underutilization can be minimized. "iDrawings" Space module provides the tools to link an extensive database with the drawings that depict the as-built conditions of the buildings. Indsys provided all the CAFM inputs for the universities space management purposes George Washington University needed easy user friendly facility management software that could link their CAD drawings to various databases. At the same time they wanted the flexibility to access their drawings and data anytime and anywhere. George Washington University migrated from their earlier CAFM software to “iDrawings”. “iDrawings” enabled them to do all this by linking space data to architectural drawings. They can now easily trace the space utilization by each department. The reports and graphic representation help the upper management to get facility information instantaneously and make quick decisions and maintain the competitive edge by enabling them to manage its facilities and management process in a much better way. Saint Anthony Medical Center St. Anthony Medical Center’s requirement was to tag all the medical gas valves and also reflect as to which all rooms the particular gas valve supplied the medical gas. This information was incorporated in the architectural plans and could be exported to spread sheets/Database. This is also now mandatory for all hospitals to display this information from the safety point of view. St. Anthony Hospital in the Chicago suburb of Crown Point is deploying a preventive maintenance system developed for them to keep track of all tasks associated with maintaining all their major physical plant equipment. The hospital would use this system to schedule Preventive Maintenance work by technicians and analyze equipment performance, and track historic trends. |
